The Making of S4

We almost died on the first day of production.

We went out to Amargosa Dunes to film the opening sequence, and Henry, our illustrious star, promptly drove my (alien provided) Jeep Rubicon
deep into trouble. If it hadn;t been for a passing biker who took pity on us and delivered us a pallet to use for leverage, we would be out there still. (Or at least Henry would be!)

Unfortunately, by this time we had tried jacking up the side of the Jeep, and found out that you can peel the metal off the side of a Jeep like you can peel the top off a can of sardines....ooops!

We lived through to another day though, and took it as a sign that we should probably organize ourselves before the next location shoot!

The Coffee Cup

There were very few issues of continuity that we really worked at maintaining, and they were usually the most insignificant, insane items that we could find. Take, for instance, the coffee cup on the table in the apartment. That cup never moved in the month that we shot in Robert Watts’ apartment. The contents evaporated, turned into paste, and grew hair, but the cup never moved; Robert simply scraped and refilled the cup as needed.

Roofus: The Wonder Mutt

Roofus, my faithful yet dopey lab/pointer mix, was allowed on set during the hospital and Officer’s Club scenes. This was because if he wasn’t, he would cry outside the door, a sound which was picked up by the microphones. As a result, Roofus would occasionally wander in and sit on Henry Clarke’s feet during filming. Henry and Antoinette are such consummate actors that they managed to complete the scenes with Roofus at their feet.
